Nottingham’s Victoria Market was home to the very first Pete’s Frootique, rubbing shoulders with 20 other stalls for four successful years.
Then, suffering from wanderlust, Pete Luckett was off to travel the world and find his niche. Settling down in Canada circa 1979, the Frootique’s first North American incarnation sprouted from Saint John, New Brunswick, where Pete parlayed a tiny market stall into a thriving business.
Always on the lookout for new challenges, Pete brought his unique brand of marketing to Nova Scotia in 1992. Pete’s Frootique Bedford started as a 1,800 square-foot enterprise that grew to a 20,000 square-foot Retail and Wholesale business that are as vibrant and colourful as Pete himself.
On November 1st, 2004, Pete’s grew to include a second Nova Scotia location in Halifax’s thriving downtown core, Pete's Frootique Downtown, with 26,000 square feet offering the same quality, value, and experience in a more urban setting.
Pete’s Frootique has been winning awards since 1999, including Best Independent Specialty Grocery Store in Canada. With our focus on community involvement, local fresh produce, and extraordinary customer service, we hope we’ll win more than awards, we hope we’ll win your heart.
Cheers!
